Keely J. Rhodes, mezzo soprano, received a bachelor of music from
Oberlin Conservatory and her master and doctor of musical arts degrees
from the University of Texas at Austin. She was the recipient of the
Austin Critic's Table Award for Best Classical Singer - Female, for
the 2005 and 2006 season. In addition, she has had the honor of
serving as a Fulbright Scholar to Italy during 2006 - 2007. While in
Italy, Dr. Rhodes performed and taught choirs at the University of
Modena-RegEmilia, and at the Accademia Militare of Modena, Italy. Dr.
Rhodes maintains a private voice studio in Northern Virginia, while
keeping a soloist and collaborative-artist performing schedule.
Keely records commercially, and has been a member of the Edison Award winning and, three-time-Grammy-Nominee Conspirare, a Company of Voices, since 2002. She is member of the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Washington Bach Consort, Vox Humana, and many other choral, chamber, and symphonic groups.
