Diana Povolotskaya, Mezzo Soprano

Diana Povolotskaya was born in Moscow, Russia, and, as a child, performed for ten years with the Bolshoy Children Choir of the Central TV and Radio of the USSR, touring internationally. She obtained her undergraduate degree in vocal performance from the High Music Institute of Ippolitov-Ivanov in Moscow, and after emigrating in 1992, has sung professionally in New York, Pennsylvania, Arizona, France and Germany. In Tucson, she is a cantor at Congregation Chaverim, a staff singer at Temple Emanuel Synagogue and at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, a founder member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and has sung with Musica Sonora and other local performance groups. She teaches music both privately and in a number of different programs, and is currently employed as a music teacher in the Sonoran Science Academy.
