Megan Drake, Soprano

Megan Drake graduated with highest honors in 2005 from Oberlin College, where she majored in French and music. She is a member of both the Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Kappa Lambda honorary societies and was awarded the Oberlin Conservatory's James H. Hall prize in music history. Her performing credits include
La PoŽsie Musicale, a concert sponsored by the Early Music Guild of Seattle's Musicians of the Guild Program, the premiere of the chamber work Aviary Corridor by composer Tim Risher and poet Charles Alexander, and, in the Seattle Academy of Baroque Opera's production of
Rappresentatione di Anima et di Corpo. Ms. Drake was invited back to Oberlin under the auspices of the French Department to give a lecture-recital entitled "The Grace of Language: 17th-century France and its Vocal Music." She also appeared as a soloist and founding member of Rossignol, which gave its premiere performance of French and Italian chamber music in Boston in June of 2009. Ms. Drake is currently attending Case Western Reserve University, where she is pursuing a doctorate in early music performance practices.
