Michael Chaffin, Tenor

Michael Chaffin, tenor, graduated with his master of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Arizona. He earned a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Northern Colorado. Mr. Chaffin's opera roles include: Ferrando (Mozart's
Cosi fan tutte), Ramiro (Rossini's
La Cenerentola), The Beast (Giannini's
Beauty and the Beast), Prunier (Puccini's
La Rondine), Alfred (Strauss'
Die Fledermaus), Nika Magadoff the Magician (Menotti's
The Consul), Mr. Splinters (Copland's
The Tenderland), Blind (Strauss'
Die Fledermaus), and Curzio (Mozart's
The Marriage of Figaro). He performed the Mozart
Requiem as soloist with the Cherry Creek Chorale in Colorado and with Tucson Chamber Artists, and recently sang the tenor solos in the Tucson
Messiah Sing-In. Michael enjoys working with children and worked as a teaching artist in the Opening Minds through the Arts program. Mr. Chaffin has also performed in education outreach tours designed to bring the world of opera to students. Michael is currently in his third year as a middle and high school choir and musical theater teacher at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy.
