Laura C. Atkinson, Mezzo Soprano

Laura C. Atkinson, mezzo-soprano, is a recent graduate of the master of music degree program in early music, oratorio and chamber ensemble at Yale University, where she studied with the American lyric tenor, James R. Taylor. At Yale, Ms. Atkinson was a member of Schola Cantorum, a vocal ensemble led by Simon Carrington. Recently, as a soloist in this ensemble, Ms. Atkinson toured BachÕs B-Minor Mass throughout China and Korea. Recent solo concert engagements include Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium at the Oregon Bach Festival, various Bach cantatas and Vivaldi's Stabat Mater at the Southport Summer Music Festival. Ms. Atkinson is a Louisville, Kentucky native.
